Netflix has launched low-cost mobile subscriptions in India after several months of testing. Monthly subscription for Netflix will have to pay 199 rupees per month. This service will only have SD streams. This plan is currently available for mobile and tablet users in India. If seen, it is much cheaper than the current Rs 499 monthly plan. This plan has been introduced for special Indian users. It is clear that Netflix wants to keep the market lower in price keeping in view the Indian market and wants to add new smartphone users to its platform.
Netflix’s monthly plan of 199 rupees has been made available. It comes with SD streaming. At any time, subscriptions can be used on one device only. It is also available for tablets. There is no support for casting on television. Netflix says that more people in India can use mobile for their platform. Reducing the price wants to give a strong challenge to the already existing Amazon Prime Video and Hotstar in Netflix Market.
The test of this plan was going on for a long time. Planets with Netflix of Rs 499, Rs 649 and Rs 799 are already in the market. During the testing, the price of this mobile plan was 250 rupees. But it seems that the company has decided to lower the subscription price and reduce the subscription cost. Remember that the monthly plan for Hotstar is Rs 299 and Amazon Prime Subscription is available at Rs 129 per month.
While launching the new subscription, Ajay Arora, director of product division of Netflix, told that our members in India consume the most content on mobile. They like to download NetFlix shows and movies on mobile. So we decided to launch a new plan, so that people using smartphones and tablets choose Netflix.
